Chris Cander is a prolific freelance writer specializing in the areas of health, fitness, and nutrition. Her years as a fitness and bodybuilding competitor give her unique insights as a writer. Chris was named contributing writer to Oxygen magazine in 2001 and contributing editor to Clean Eating since the magazine’s debut issue in 2007. Most recently, she was named contributing writer to Maximum Fitness magazine. Her more than 200 articles and essays have appeared in many national and regional publications including Texas Monthly, Maximum Fitness, Muscle & Fitness, Muscle & Fitness Hers, LowCarb Living, Energy for Women, and the Houston Chronicle.
Jessica Hernandez is a 24 year old grad student at Colorado State University. She achieved a B.S. in Agricultural Business in 2006 and is working on her Master’s thesis in Agriculture and Resource Economics. She has been riding horses for 16 years, and competes in three-day events that are the equivalent to a human triathlon. In high school she played basketball and then in college got serious about weight lifting. Jessica loves to run and has completed in five marathons. Her current goal is to compete at the national level to earn her IFBB Pro Card. She recently placed 3rd in Class C at the 2007 Northern Colorado and won the VPX Meltdown Challenge.
