Donald Miller, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Manitoba School of Medicine. He has over 15 years of research experience in the study of drug absorption and drug distribution. He has published over 75 research articles covering a variety of topics in drug absorption and blood-brain barrier permeability. His research has been supported by the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, National Institutes of Health, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and the Canadian Foundation for Innovation. Alexis Martinez of Pembroke Pines, FL is an Olympic Taekwondo competitor who is coming on strong. She was named Outstanding Female Athlete at the USA Taekwondo Junior Olympics after taking gold in the junior welterweight class, winning three matches by a combined 49-9. She won bronze in the Adult Bantamweight class at the USAT National Championships. She also appeared in the “Faces in the Crowd” feature in the August 10, 2009 issue of Sports Illustrated.
